A total of AZN 3.916 billion was allocated for pension payments in the first half of this year, representing a 10% increase (AZN 368 million) compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population announced this in a statement to Oxu24.com.

According to the ministry, pensions were increased by 9.3% through indexation at the beginning of this year.

"As of July 1, 2026, the average monthly pension increased by 10% compared to the corresponding period last year, reaching AZN 594. The average monthly old-age pension also rose to AZN 632.

During the first half of this year, 23,000 pensions were granted proactively through the electronic system. Since the launch of the electronic pension assignment system in early 2019, a total of 201,000 pensions have been assigned automatically via the e-system," the statement said.
