Death Toll from Venezuela Earthquakes Rises to 2,645

The death toll from the powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 has risen to 2,645, according to the latest official figures.

According to Lent.az, citing the country's Ministry of Information and Communication, 12,666 people were injured, while 15,050 residents were left homeless as a result of the disaster.

Officials said that 189 buildings were completely destroyed, and 885 others sustained severe damage.

During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were rescued, while 20,909 people received medical assistance. In addition, 86,117 families have received humanitarian aid, and 9,486 tons of food supplies have been delivered to those affected.

It is worth recalling that on June 24, two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude struck Yaracuy State in Venezuela just 40 seconds apart.
