Don’t Listen to These Songs While Driving – List Revealed
Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” tops the list of potentially dangerous songs for drivers.
According to Qafqazinfo, this was revealed by a study conducted by the law firm Trujillo Gonzalez.
Experts analyzed 30 Spotify playlists designed for road trips and identified the 50 songs most frequently listened to by drivers. They then compared the songs based on their tempo.
The study found that songs with a tempo above 120 beats per minute (BPM) can encourage drivers to drive faster, reduce concentration behind the wheel, and increase driving errors.
Researchers explain this through rhythmic synchronization. When listening to fast-paced music, drivers may unconsciously adjust the way they drive to match the rhythm of the music.
Experts consider a tempo of 60–100 BPM to be within the safer range for driving. Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” however, has a tempo of 192 BPM.
The top five also include Oasis’ “Wonderwall” (173 BPM), The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “STAY” (169 BPM), Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” (166 BPM), and Blondie’s “One Way or Another” (162 BPM).
The second five songs on the list, considered potentially dangerous for driving, are Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” Outkast’s “Hey Ya!,” Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” and Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven.”
