Ronaldo vs. Jorge Jesus: The Truth Behind Their Explosive Row Revealed
Ronaldo–Jorge Jesus Row Continues as Football Figures Weigh In
The conflict between Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus and football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo continues to attract attention, with prominent football figures and experts offering their opinions on the dispute.
Faktxeber.Az reports that the controversy has taken a new turn following comments and advice from several football veterans and specialists.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has shared his views on Cristiano Ronaldo’s reported dispute with the Portugal national team.
“I think Ronaldo should forget about the national team and focus on reaching 1,000 goals. He has done everything for Portugal, yet they still disrespect him. All the trophies in their cabinet are there thanks to Ronaldo. He made everything possible, and they should show him respect.”
Famous Portuguese football agent Paulo Barbosa described the situation as both sad and disappointing, but also somewhat amusing.
“Ronaldo was hurt and decided to leave. Most likely, this is the end of his time with the national team, although he probably believes they will eventually want him back. But this is a very noisy controversy and goes against the principles of football.”
Barbosa added that Ronaldo may be hoping Jorge Jesus will be dismissed after poor results and that a new coach could invite him back. However, he suggested that such a scenario may be unlikely.
He also claimed that some players within the squad may have grown tired of the ongoing Ronaldo controversy, arguing that this is not the first such incident involving the veteran forward.
Belgium head coach Mark van Bommel, meanwhile, defended Ronaldo and criticized the handling of the situation.
“If you promise a player that he will play, you have to keep your word. I have never promised anyone that they would play because you never know what can happen. Even if you tell a player that his chances of playing are high, you should always keep your options open.”
French journalist Daniel Riolo took a much more critical view of Ronaldo’s actions, comparing the situation to something out of a movie.
“It’s simply crazy and unbelievable. How can a player at the end of his career destroy everything in such an incompetent way? I suspected and was convinced that things would end this way.”
Ronaldo has made 234 appearances for Portugal and scored 146 goals. He has won UEFA Euro 2016 and two UEFA Nations League titles with the national team.
On the night of October 1, the 41-year-old forward reportedly left Portugal’s training camp ahead of the match against Denmark, further fueling the controversy surrounding his relationship with the national team.
