President Met with Residents in Kichik Galadarasi Village – PHOTO
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the village of Kichik Galadarasi in the Shusha district on July 11, familiarized himself with the restoration works carried out in the field of individual houses and infrastructure, and met with residents returning to the village.
According to Faktxeber.az, Aydin Karimov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, informed the head of state about the works carried out in the village.
It was reported that there are 66 individual houses in Kichik Galadarasi. Of these, 19 are considered unusable, while 47 are partially suitable for use. A total of 26 houses have already been prepared for occupancy. Another 21 houses are planned to be completed next year. At the initial stage, 15 families (51 people) have returned to the village. By the end of this year, an additional 11 families (45 people) are expected to return.
A number of measures have been implemented to create social infrastructure in the village. New gas and water supply lines have been laid, an artesian well has been restored, and 26 individual houses are currently connected to the water network. A transformer station has been installed, and overhead power lines have been restored. A park and a Flag Square have been built for residents’ recreation, and internal village roads have been asphalted.
It should be noted that Kichik Galadarasi is part of the Galadarasi village administrative territorial unit of the Shusha district and is located 40 kilometers southwest of the district center. The village was occupied by the Armenian armed forces in 1992. The occupation of the village ended in 2023 as a result of Azerbaijan’s anti-terror operation.
Before the occupation, residents of the village were mainly engaged in livestock breeding, vegetable farming, and beekeeping. The village had a secondary school, kindergarten, cultural center, library, medical facility, and communications office.
The head of state visited the home of village resident Asad Asadov.
Later, President Ilham Aliyev met with residents who had returned to the village.
