Researchers in the United States have developed a special textile technology that converts moisture in the air into drinking water.

According to reports, a prototype jacket made with the technology can produce approximately 400–900 milliliters of drinking water per day—nearly one liter—depending on the humidity of the surrounding environment.

The researchers say the technology could also be integrated into backpacks, tents, and other outdoor equipment in the future.

This innovation could be especially valuable in disaster-stricken regions and areas facing water shortages, where access to clean drinking water is limited.
