Turkish television executive and businessman Acun Ilıcalı has spoken about how losing his parents at an early age affected his life and career.

According to BiG.AZ, citing Milli.az, he said that the difficulties and loneliness he experienced played an important role in his success. Acun Ilıcalı admitted that if his parents had still been alive, he might not have achieved the same level of success he has today.

“I was the happiest child in the world. I would go to and return from school without any worries. I used to say, ‘My father has my back.’ But when those voids appeared, I found myself alone in my twenties. I had no choice but to do something and create something. My own ‘Survivor’ had already begun.

Helplessness, poverty and loneliness — all of these give a person extra strength to survive in life. The secret behind my success today is actually the loneliness I experienced in life,” Ilıcalı said.
