An 85-Year-Old Man Was Kidnapped and Killed by Mistake — 12 People Arrested

Australian police have arrested the 12th suspect in the kidnapping and murder case of 85-year-old Chris Bagsarian, who lived in Sydney. Investigators believe the elderly man was an accidental victim: the criminals may have gone to the wrong address or mistakenly identified the person they intended to target.

According to Lent.az, citing foreign media reports, the kidnapping took place in the early hours of February 13, 2026. The man was forcibly taken from his home in the North Ryde area. After his relatives contacted police, a search operation was launched, and authorities soon determined that the elderly man was not the person the criminals had actually intended to kidnap.

Bagsarian could not be found alive. On the morning of February 24, his remains were discovered near a golf course in the Pitt Town area. The circumstances surrounding his death and the motives of those who allegedly organized the crime are still under investigation.

Before the latest arrest, 11 people had already been charged in connection with the case. On the morning of August 11, police arrested a 51-year-old woman in Lethbridge Park. She was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station and charged with allegedly helping conceal the crime after the murder.

The woman was denied bail. She is expected to appear before a local court.

According to New South Wales Police, the extent of each defendant’s involvement in the crime will be determined during the investigation and court proceedings.
