What Temperature Is Safest for Eating Food?
"Extremely hot foods and drinks can be dangerous."
According to Faktxeber.az, Russian gastroenterologist Aleksandr Prikazchikov shared this information on his Telegram channel.
According to Prikazchikov, consuming foods and beverages at temperatures above 65°C (149°F) may double the risk of developing esophageal cancer. He also noted that very hot foods are associated with esophagitis and erosions of the esophageal lining.
"The safest temperature for the esophagus and the upper gastrointestinal tract is a moderate temperature, approximately 36–42°C (97–108°F), rather than food or drinks served as hot as possible. As for cold food, it does not pose a health risk because the stomach naturally warms it to body temperature," the specialist added.
