Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed that the United States sign a diesel fuel supply agreement with Ukraine, arguing that Kyiv has significant influence over Russia’s oil refining operations and the movement of vessels transporting Russian oil.

According to Faktxeber.Az, citing European Pravda, Zelensky made the remarks at the Warsaw Security Forum.

He said that any agreements between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning Russian diesel fuel supplies would have little impact on global markets, as the volumes involved were insignificant.

Zelensky also raised the issue of an energy truce, emphasizing that ensuring an uninterrupted electricity supply for Ukraine was critically important.

“If they can guarantee the protection of our energy grid, we will not interfere with their diesel infrastructure. For us, electricity supply primarily means helping people. Electricity is essential for people, but it is also important for Europe, because everyone knows that we are connected to the European grid. If our energy infrastructure is not attacked, we will be able to help other countries,” he said.

According to Zelensky, the US side understands that Ukraine’s main priority in any energy truce is to stop Russian strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
